Rarotonga International Airport

Air Rarotonga counters are located in the Check-in pavilion at Rarotonga International Airport, a short under cover walk from the international arrivals area.

• ATM (at International Arrivals Exit)

Outer Islands Airports

The domestic airports on all these islands with scheduled flights (Mangaia, Atiu, Mauke, Mitiaro) are not the kind of Airport you are used to.

They are unpaved coral airstrips with small shelters for a terminal that tend to be situated on the remote side of the island. All these island are too sparsely populated and see too few tourists to warrant any public transport system or taxis.

It is therefore highly recommended you book accommodation and any tour arrangements in advance. Your hosts will usually make arrangements for transport – or meet and greet – at the Airport.

Getting to accommodation from Northern Group Atoll airports of Manihiki, Penrhyn (Tongareva) and Pukapuka may involve a trip across the lagoon by boat.

Aitutaki Airport

Aitutaki Airport has a small comfortable passenger terminal where you can avail yourself of the following facilities:

• Air Rarotonga Air Cargo sales, drop off and pick up
• Airport Café and Snack Bar
• meet and Greet service by most hotels and resorts

Please note there is no public transport on Aitutaki – please make sure you have made arrangements for transfers with your accommodation provider or travel agent. Alternatively rental cars can be arranged to be left at the Airport for your arrival.

The Pacific Resort and the Aitutaki Lagoon resort and Spa have their own lounges at the Airport.

Tahiti/Faaa International Airport

When checking in for Air Rarotonga flights to Rarotonga at Papeete Faa’a International Airport please proceed to the international checkin desks.

Faa’a Airport has free Wifi limited to 30 minutes per user per week.
